If you live in Orpington — or nearby in Petts Wood, St Mary Cray, Chelsfield or St Paul's Cray — finding the right support shouldn't mean travelling into central London. I'm Richard Lee, a BACP accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, and I work from a calm, private practice a short journey away in Bromley, near Bromley South station.
My background spans the Priory and Nightingale Hospitals, alongside specialist Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) training. I offer a confidential space to work through anxiety, low mood, trauma, addiction and relationship difficulties — in person or online.
The practice is at 67-69 Widmore Road, Bromley (BR1 3AA), a five-minute walk from Bromley South station. Orpington sits close by, making it a quick and simple trip whether you come by train or car.
Orpington station is a well-connected Southeastern hub. The practice is a short walk from Bromley South, itself a major stop on the network, so the connection from Orpington is quick and straightforward. If you'd like help planning your route, just ask.
Orpington is a short drive away, with on-street parking available on Widmore Road and nearby streets — considerably easier than parking in central London. The Glades Shopping Centre car park is also a three-minute walk from the practice.
If travel isn't practical on a given week, I offer secure online therapy across the UK at the same standard and fee. Many clients combine both, fitting sessions around work and family life.
Therapy asks a lot of you — honesty, patience, a willingness to sit with discomfort. The last thing it should also demand is a draining commute. Working with someone close to home means your energy goes into the session itself, not into getting there and back.
Orpington is a busy commuter hub — a place people travel through, and sometimes rush through life too. Between the morning train, the school run, and everything in between, it's easy to put your own wellbeing last. Whatever has brought you here, we begin by understanding it properly — then work toward the change you want, at a pace that feels right.
A racing mind, a sense of dread, or worry that won't switch off.
Feeling flat, heavy or hopeless — as if the colour has drained from things.
Conflict, distance, or patterns you can't seem to step out of.
The lingering weight of experiences that still shape how you feel now.
Drinking, substances or behaviours that have become hard to manage.
A harsh inner critic, or a quiet sense of never quite being enough.
These are the areas I focus on in my practice — all available to clients travelling from Orpington, in person or online.
